Hyaluronic acid injection

Botulinum toxin has proven to be one of the most valuable and effective therapeutic products that exists when used in a subtle and well-dosed manner. The demand for injections is increasing in Switzerland in particular to fight against wrinkles. When administered by a specialist doctor, it is also possible to subtly modify the look to give a more open look and a more rested look, for example.

What is botulinum toxin?

Breast surgery is the second most common surgical procedure in my practice preceded by liposculpture (liposuction or fat transplantation). As a plastic surgeon passionated for breast enhancement, I have been expose to treat a large number of patients who consult for various reasons, including always problems related to breast volume and shape.

Most of these problems arise from a variety of situations such as a lack of development during adolescence, excessive decrease of volume after pregnancy, abnormal development with asymmetric malformations, deformations or as reconstruction as part of treatment of cancer.

How is botulinum toxin injected?

Botulinum toxin is administered by injection, and must be injected by a specialist doctor. For this treatment, the toxin is mixed with a physiological solution (sterile and slightly salted water). It is injected directly into the target muscles with precision using a small needle.

The number of injections and the amount of product you will need will depend mainly on the areas to be treated and the quality of the skin. All this must be evaluated in detail by your specialist. Your response to previous treatments is also taken into consideration. The effect is temporary and its duration is approximately 4 to 6 months.

Side Effects Of Botulinum Toxin Injections.

It is important to differentiate the minor side effects from the more bothersome side effects.

We can notably mention:
  • Slight pain at the time of injection
  • Possibility of a small hematoma (small blue) at the injection sites

Fortunately rare but more annoying:

  • Feeling of dry eyes
  • Ptosis of an eyelid (fall of one of the 2 eyelids) by accidental attack of the levator muscle of the eyelid.
