Buttock lift and Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL)
Due to weight loss, weight fluctuations and aging processes, the skin and connective tissue are stretched and often cannot retract completely due to loss of elasticity. Sagging skin on the buttocks affects many women considerably, who can no longer wear short skirts, fashionable dresses or leggings, or tight trousers.
What is a buttock lift?
A buttock lift can be used to remove excess skin and fat from the buttocks. In addition, liposuction can be performed to create an even skin surface, especially around the saddlebags, waist, back and thighs.
What is a Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL)?
In some cases, the buttocks are quite flat and have little contour, but the skin and connective tissue are in very good condition. In these cases, an autologous fat transfer may be sufficient to achieve the desired tightening effect and give the buttocks a rounded, feminine appearance. This procedure is called the Brazilian Butt Lift. The origin of this name is the Brazilian beauty ideal: a round and rounded buttocks.
What is the goal of a butt lift?
The main objective of a buttock lift is to remove excess skin and fatty tissue from the buttocks. This results in a nice, youthful, rounded shape of the buttocks and the ability to wear fashionable clothes again.
Combining the buttock lift with other procedures
To achieve the best possible aesthetic result, a buttock lift can be combined with other procedures, such as liposuction of the saddlebags and thighs. However, the buttocks can also be reshaped by suctioning out the fat deposits above the buttocks, called "love handles", and below the buttocks, called "bananas". This also improves the contour of the buttocks. The aspirated fat can be used for an autologous fat transfer to enlarge the buttocks or to fill in facial wrinkles, for example. Autologous fat transfer to increase breast size is also possible.
A dynamic appearance with a youthful, vital glow is the goal and can be achieved by combining different procedures.
Surgical methods for buttock lift and Brazilian Butt Lift
Only safe and modern surgical methods are used. A butt lift is performed under general anaesthesia, an overnight stay in hospital may be useful. If only liposuction is performed, such an operation can usually be performed on an outpatient basis if the lesions are small and the patients are young and healthy. If liposuction is combined with autologous fat transfer, an overnight stay in a clinic may be recommended.
Various techniques for performing a buttock lift are known and proven. The most suitable and safest method of operation for you will be chosen according to your anatomy, your goals and your wishes.
Buttock lift with autologous fat transfer
In patients with little excess skin and good connective tissue, a buttock lift can possibly be performed using autologous fat transfer only, without the need to remove any tissue. This procedure is called the Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL). In this case, there are practically no visible scars. The result is clearer and more harmonious when the fat deposits are removed from the lower back, waist, buttocks, thighs and saddlebags. On the one hand, this results in accentuated buttocks with feminine curves, on the other hand, the fat removed in this way is needed for autologous fat transfer.
